Dr. Brandon
D’Andrea is an Investigative Review Specialist with the U.S. Department of
Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), where he supports integration of
artificial intelligence and advanced analytics into oversight operations. His
work focuses on promoting innovation while maintaining independence and
accountability across audits, evaluations, and investigations.
Prior to his
federal civilian service, Dr. D’Andrea served 22 years in the U.S. Army, with
assignments in military police, civil affairs, and inspector general roles. His
combined service includes positions with the Army CID, the U.S. Small Business
Administration OIG, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and
Explosives.
He holds a
doctorate in Criminal Justice with a focus on artificial intelligence, as well
as graduate and undergraduate degrees in Urban Studies and Criminal Justice. He
has conducted research and training on the intersection of ethics, data, and
oversight, and is a frequent speaker on innovation in the IG community.
Outside of
government service, Dr. D’Andrea mentors youth as an assistant scoutmaster,
supports veterans through VFW and Team Red, White & Blue (RWB), and is
known for blending insights from military service and Batman’s playbook— because
some days, leadership means showing up tired, angry, and still doing the right
thing.
